Lessons are held in person in a public place in the Brisbane CBD or nearby areas, including South Bank, South Brisbane, and West End.
If you prefer, we can also meet at your home.
This depends on your starting level and how far you are from your target score, but I generally recommend at least 3 months of preparation — and up to 6 months if you are starting from a lower level.
Most of my students take one lesson per week, which is why I offer a block of 10 lessons: it gives you roughly two and a half months of consistent, structured study.
Yes, I took the IELTS test myself in 2014 and achieved an overall score of Band 9.
Since I've taken the test myself, I know exactly what it's like to sit the test, and I understand how stressful it can be. I use this experience to help my students prepare not just academically, but also mentally and emotionally for the test day.
Apart from English, I also speak Cantonese and some French, Russian, Japanese and Mandarin.
All services must be paid for in advance. When you pay for a block of lessons, the total is held as credit and deducted as each lesson takes place.
All credit must be used within 3 months of payment.
I understand that things come up and plans change. If you need to reschedule a lesson, please let me know by 9AM on the day of the lesson and we will find another time.
If I do not hear from you by 9AM, it will be considered a late cancellation and the fee for that lesson will be deducted from your credit.
All payments are final. This keeps things simple and ensures commitment on both sides.
If you are no longer able to continue, any unused credit can be applied to other services or transferred to another student.
